The holiday season is upon us, and local real estate activity seems to be winding down for the year. However, there is still one major piece of real estate business left this month. The Federal Reserve Board has its final meeting of the year coming up. Based on recent comments by the chairperson, Janet Yellen, as well as the current status of the economy, it seems almost certain that interest rates will be raised for the first time in seven years. How much the increase may be still remains to be seen.
